The Polestar 3 has established a new world record, traveling 581.3 miles on a single charge. This result was achieved on open roads in Great Britain, demonstrating the capabilities of electric SUVs.
The vehicle that participated in the trial was the standard version with a single electric motor producing 295 hp and a 107 kWh battery. During the journey, which lasted 22 hours and 57 minutes, the team managed to achieve an efficiency of 5.13 miles per kWh, which exceeds the official WLTP data by 438 miles.
The team of three drivers - Sem Klark, Kevin Booker, and Richard Parker - took turns every three hours during the journey. They covered a distance that surpassed the previous record by 11.64 miles, which was set by the Ford Mustang Mach-E. An important point is that the vehicle was not modified, including standard Michelin Sport 4 EV tires.
The journey took place under mixed weather conditions, and the team managed to travel even the last mile after the battery charge indicator dropped to 0%. This confirms that the vehicle could have traveled even further.
The record was certified by a Guinness World Records judge, Pauline Sapinski, who noted the importance of real driving conditions for achieving such results. Klark emphasized that achieving such figures requires not only the technical characteristics of the vehicle but also the coordinated efforts of the team.
