Vladimir Putin Discusses the War in Ukraine with Donald Trump
- Putin discussed the war in Ukraine with Trump ahead of their meeting in Alaytsia.

- Sanctions from the USA may be lifted through Trump’s negotiations with Putin.
The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, held a phone conversation with the leader of North Korea, Kim Jong Un, during which they discussed future negotiations with the President of the USA, Donald Trump, scheduled for September 15 in Alaytsia. According to Kremlin information, Putin expressed gratitude for North Korea's support during the war in Ukraine. In response, the leader of North Korea confirmed readiness for further cooperation. Along with the assessment of North Korean intelligence, North Korea has already sent more than 10,000 troops to support Russia.
Vladimir Zelensky stated that Ukraine cannot agree to the Russian proposal regarding the territorial concessions in exchange for a ceasefire, as this would become the basis for future aggression. He called for a ceasefire on the frontline and the return of all military personnel before discussing territorial issues.
Zelensky also pointed out that Trump's meeting with Putin, in his opinion, will result in new US sanctions against Russia. He believes that this meeting is "a personal breakthrough" for Putin, as it allows him to exit international isolation.
Before the summit, Zelensky plans to hold virtual negotiations with European leaders and Trump to discuss the situation in Russia. All EU leaders, except for Hungary, signed a statement calling for the protection of Ukrainian and European interests.
At the same time, according to the Ukrainian military command, Russia is suffering significant losses in Ukraine, including 1,000 personnel daily during attacks on the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Ukrainian losses are significantly lower; according to Zelensky, on Monday, 18 military personnel were killed, and 243 were injured.
Moreover, the Ukrainian intelligence reported successful strikes on Russian military objects, including buildings where Shahed drones were stored in Tatarstan.
The UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, expressed concern over incidents of sexual violence associated with Russian armed forces.
