The production of the X-59 rocket is facing difficulties due to a lack of components
- Russia is not fulfilling state orders for the X-59 rocket due to a lack of components.
- The production of the rocket is facing problems due to the presence of uncontracted companies.
- Sanctions are in effect, and they need to be expanded to all suppliers of components.
This is reported by Interfax Ukraine, Ukrayinska Pravda.
The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported that Russian manufacturers are not fulfilling state defense orders for the production of the X-59 rocket due to a lack of domestic and imported components.
According to the data, 116 companies are involved in the production of the X-59M2/M2A rockets, of which nearly 50 do not fall under the sanctions of any country. At the same time, Russia is facing serious problems in fulfilling defense orders.
Russian manufacturers regularly report on the non-fulfillment of terms for the production of rockets due to defective elements and limited production capabilities. In some cases, manufacturers use old engines and components of outdated systems.
HUR also noted that for the economy of resources, some manufacturers are dismantling old systems and adapting them for new rockets. Notable cases include replacing active heads with self-guided ones on rockets, which significantly reduces their effectiveness.
At the same time, dozens of manufacturers continue to produce electronic components and guidance systems, remaining outside the sanctions, which allows them to continue modernizing rockets, albeit with reduced quality.
HUR emphasized that sanctions are effective and called for international cooperation to expand them to all manufacturers that supply components for rockets.
The X-59 rockets are designed for striking ground targets, including buildings and fortified objects, and have several modifications for various missions.
