Leeds United signed Dominic Calvert-Lewin as a free agent

  • Calvert-Lewin signed a contract with Leeds United as a free agent.
  • The forward previously played for Everton for nine years.
  • This transfer became the eighth for Leeds in the summer transfer window.

Leeds United reached a prior agreement for the signing of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who left Everton as a free agent. The 28-year-old forward, whose career at Everton was marred by injuries, is now undergoing medical tests at the training ground in Thorpe Arch.

Calvert-Lewin left Everton after nine years, during which he scored 71 goals in 274 matches. His contract with the club ended on June 30, and although Everton wanted to extend a new deal, an agreement could not be reached.

After announcing his departure from the club, Calvert-Lewin expressed gratitude to Everton, stating that this club became his home for 19 years. The signing with Leeds marks the eighth transfer for the club this summer following their return to the Premier League.

Calvert-Lewin also has experience playing for the England national team, where he played 11 matches and scored 4 goals, although his last match for the national team was in 2021.
