  • The Scotland national team begins its selection for the World Championship on March 5.

Steven Neismit is transitioning to the coaching staff of the Scotland national team as an assistant, after not participating in the management teams for the past year.

Neismit left the club "Hearts" 11 months ago after a series of eight defeats. Previously, he played for "Kilmarnock", "Rangers", "Everton", "Norwich" and "Hearts", and also represented the Scotland national team, where he played 51 matches.

He replaces John Carver, who became the coach of "Lehi" in Gdansk, and also joins the team alongside Andrew Hughes, who will be the coach of the standard positions.

Neismit expressed his satisfaction with returning to the national team, saying: "When I first spoke with Steven about the possibility of returning, it was obvious. I enjoy playing for my country, and I cannot wait to help in the fight for a return to the World Championship again".

Hughes also expressed his pride, noting that this is an important moment for his family, and he is eagerly awaiting the start of the selection for the World Championship with such talented staff.

The head coach of the Scotland national team, Steve Clarke, confirmed that Neismit and Hughes are important additions to the team, which begins its selection for the World Championship against Denmark on March 5, and will also play against Belarus and Greece this fall.
