On September 12, 2025, Viktor Sudakov, father of Shakhtar Donetsk attacking midfielder and national team player Georgiy Sudakov, passed away. Viktor was 50 years old.

Georgiy Sudakov announced the loss on his Instagram, noting that his father did not live to see his 51st birthday. In the announcement, he expressed his feelings and memories about his father.

"Tomorrow was supposed to be your birthday... But God had a different plan for this day. You were a real, broad-hearted person with a pure soul!"

Georgiy also recalled shared moments with his father, how they used to watch football together, emphasizing how important it is to cherish time with loved ones.

It is noted that Georgiy Sudakov continues to play for Shakhtar, where he has already played six matches in all official tournaments of the 2025/26 season.

The next match for Shakhtar will take place on September 14, when the team will face Panaitolikos in the return leg of the European League qualification.
