David Lammy turned to environmental authorities after illegal fishing
- David Lammy turned to ecological control through fishing
- Licenses for fishing were obtained after the incident
- Visit of Vance included political meetings and a family retreat
David Lammy, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Kingdom, turned to ecological control after it was revealed that during fishing with U.S. President Joe Biden, he did not have the necessary license. The incident occurred at a private lake in Chevington House, Kent, during Vance's visit to the United Kingdom last week.
According to the regulations, fish in England and Wales that are older than 13 years must have a license for the capture of freshwater species, such as carp. Lammy did not manage to catch any fish, while the children of Vance caught several.
The Foreign Office noted that it was an "administrative oversight", through which the licenses were not obtained in advance. Lammy purchased the license as soon as he learned about the oversight and reported to the Agency for Environmental Protection to acknowledge the violation.
The Agency confirmed that the licenses were obtained, and all fish caught during the visit were returned to the water. The visit of Vance also included family retreats, private political meetings, and enhanced security measures.
During his stay in Chevington House, Vance described Lammy as "a good friend" and "a very generous host", not mentioning that the minister did not catch any fish.
