Amazon Expands Fresh Product Delivery for Customers
- Prime members can order fresh products with free delivery.
- The service will be available in over 2300 cities by the end of the year.
- Amazon plans to increase competition in the product delivery market.
Amazon has launched a new fresh product delivery service for its Prime users in over 1000 cities across the U.S. Now, customers can order milk, berries, and other products along with regular items, such as batteries. The free delivery service is available on the same day for orders totaling over $25 for Prime members, while for those who are not subscribers, the delivery fee will be $12.99.
This service is part of Amazon's expansion, which plans to reach over 2300 cities by the end of the year. Previously, product orders were fulfilled through Amazon Fresh or Whole Foods, but the new system allows customers to pay for everything in one cart.
This expansion, according to the company, will increase competition with retailers such as Walmart, Instacart, and Target. Amazon has also noted the success of testing this service in cities like Phoenix, Orlando, and Kansas City, where new customers are converting to shopping more frequently.
