In the morning, Everton confirmed the signing of Jack Grealish on a season-long loan from Manchester City.
Everton's manager David Moyes noted that the team has acquired an experienced player who has already proven his worth in the Premier League.
Grealish, who began his career at Aston Villa, signed a six-year contract with City in 2021 for a record fee for the Premier League of 100 million pounds sterling. However, in recent seasons at City, he has been limited, playing only 10 matches in the Premier League last season.
Now Grealish hopes to regain his form in a new position at Everton, where, according to Moyes, he will be able to take on the role of a central attacking midfielder.
Additionally to the loan, Everton will pay about 75% of Grealish's salary, which amounts to 300 thousand pounds per week. The contract also includes an option to buy for 50 million pounds.
Grealish received the number 18, which is a tribute to his childhood idols, Paul Gascoigne and Wayne Rooney. The team manager hopes that the new player will help the team achieve success this season and return to the England squad for the upcoming World Cup.
