Tensor presents the first personal robot in the world
- Tensor plans to introduce a robot for personal use in 2026.
- The vehicle ensures a high level of confidentiality for its owners.
- Tensor utilizes a significant number of sensors to ensure security.
Tensor — a new startup from the Crimea region, aims to become the first manufacturer of a real robot designed for personal use. This vehicle will have the potential for automated driving with the "eyes off" function, allowing drivers not to control the driving process. The design of the vehicle includes a large array of sensors, among which are 37 cameras, 5 lidars, and 11 radars.
The manufacturer promises that the vehicle will ensure a high level of confidentiality, as data about the location will not be transmitted to the cloud without the owner's consent. Tensor plans to start sales in the second half of 2026.
The robot is developed by the company Vinfast and designed for private use, setting it apart from many other companies that retain their focus on taxis. Tensor hopes that its vehicle will be able to operate on main roads in non-snowy regions, although it may not cover all streets from the moment it hits the market.
The startup is the result of a rebranding of the AutoX project, which has been engaged in driverless taxis in China for several years. Tensor aims to uniquely limit the use of Chinese software in the USA, thus focusing on the development of vehicles for personal use.
In addition, Tensor pays close attention to safety, proposing several reserve systems, including three systems for vehicle stabilization. The vehicle also implements new methods for cleaning sensors, ensuring their effectiveness.
