- He has undergone several procedures and experimental treatments.
- At this moment, Jones has no tumors and continues to manage the team.
Jerry Jones, owner of the Dallas Cowboys, revealed that he has been battling stage four skin cancer for over a decade. In June 2010, he was diagnosed with melanoma at stage 4 at the MD Anderson medical center in Houston, Texas.
This type of cancer is the most serious form, as malignant cells spread to other organs. Jones emphasized that throughout the last decade, he has undergone several procedures, including two on the legs and two on lymphatic vessels.
In his battle with the disease, Jones has also received experimental therapy PD-1, which activates the immune system to fight cancer cells. He described the results of the treatment as "truly amazing" and confirmed that he currently has no tumors.
Jones, who is currently 82 years old, stated that his battle with cancer remains a significant part of his private life, but it raises questions about current treatment methods for cancer and the need for overcoming this disease. After many years of managing the team, Jones continues to work on developing a team that has not been able to achieve success in the playoffs since 2023.
In a documentary film from Netflix, which will be released next week, Jones also shared his sense of humor during treatment, including when the doctor advised him to simply ignore those who were his relatives.
