Discussed preparations for the meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group

The Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksii Reznikov, discussed preparations for the new meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group with his British counterpart, James Heappey. The meeting is scheduled for September. Reznikov thanked Great Britain for its active preparation and organization of the meeting.

During a telephone conversation, the ministers also discussed the development of joint production and the implementation of bilateral projects in the defense sector. Reznikov expressed hope that Great Britain will play an important role in the new mechanism "List of Priority Requirements of Ukraine" (PURL), which will allow NATO countries to finance the supply of American weapons and technology.

The last meeting of the contact group took place on July 21, when Reznikov reported on Ukraine's need for $6 billion to cover the gaps in procurement. It was also reported on the launch of a new mechanism for purchasing weapons in the USA for Ukraine.
