Cleveland Browns reported that rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders sustained an injury during practice on Wednesday, September 13. After the injury, he was sidelined from further activities during training.
This injury came after a remarkable debut by Sanders in the preseason match against the Carolina Panthers, where he completed 14 of 23 passes for 138 yards and threw two touchdowns. Regardless of this success, Sanders remains fourth in line for the quarterback position on the team.
The Browns also have issues with other quarterbacks. Kenny Pickett and Dillion Gabriel are expected to be injured, which complicates the situation within the team. Head coach Kevin Stefanski has not yet confirmed who will start in the upcoming match against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Sanders, the son of renowned quarterback Deion Sanders, was selected in the fifth round of the NFL draft, which became unexpected for many. His status on the team and future opportunities remain uncertain.
