FLORHAM PARK, NEW JERSEY. — In the afternoon, there were joint practices of the Jets and Giants, where both teams demonstrated their skills on the field. The training took place without individual conflicts, although there were some tense moments between the players. For instance, Jets linebacker Fidiarian Metthis entered into a skirmish with Giants players during team drills.
In the previous training, the Jets received good news from the medical front: rookie Taylor returned to practice after recovering from a concussion. However, the team also received bad news: quarterback Tyrod Taylor missed practice due to a lingering issue.
Quarterback Jets Justin Fields showed notable results. He completed 7 out of 12 passes in team drills 11 on 11, although he had several missed moments, including a blocked pass on the line.
At the same time, the Giants had their struggles. Quarterback Russell Wilson couldn’t seem to produce an effective game due to strong pressure from the Jets' defense. During the previous red zone, the team managed to score several times, finishing practice with three touchdowns.
During training, there were also highlighted rookies of the Giants: Jackson Dart, who displayed aggression in passes, and safety Abdul Carter, who showcased a wonderful game in defense.
The upcoming training between the teams is scheduled for mid-week based in Giants, where players will continue to prepare for the season.
