The Tampa Bay Lightning Arena Receives a New Name: Benchmark International Arena

Tampa, Florida. The home arena of the Tampa Bay Lightning hockey team has received a new name - Benchmark International Arena. The name change is part of a multi-year agreement established with a company that specializes in metals and mining.
The name signifies valuable connections. The building, which was opened in 1996, had been named Amalie Arena since 2014. Here, the Tampa Bay Lightning won the Stanley Cup in 2021, marking their second consecutive championship.
The financial terms of the agreement have not been disclosed. Benchmark International and Vinik Sports Group, which owns the Lightning, announced that their partnership includes contributions totaling over 3 million dollars for local nonprofit organizations.
The General Director of Vinik Sports Group, Steve Griggs, characterized Benchmark as "a highly respected brand with global outreach and strong ties to the Tampa Bay community." He also noted that Amalie Motor Oil will remain a corporate partner of the organization.
