Billy Joel Closes Beloved Motorcycle Shop

Billy Joel is closing his popular motorcycle shop in Long Island, New York, after nearly 15 years of operation. The 20th Century Cycles shop in Oyster Bay will close in early March, and the collection of motorcycles will be auctioned off this year through a diagnosis, received from a musical icon.

In April, Joel announced the cancellation of scheduled concerts after learning about his health issue – a gastrointestinal normality. This condition leads to the accumulation of fluid in the brain, which can affect thinking, memory, and movement. The singer experienced instability, but otherwise he felt good.

20th Century Cycles was opened in 2010 as a place for servicing and repairing motorcycles, as well as for showcasing Joel's collection of motorcycles without charge for visitors. The shop featured over 75 motorcycles, including Harley-Davidson, Triumph, and Ducati, dating back to the 1940s.

In 2023, part of the street, where the shop is located, was renamed in honor of Joel. He hoped to attract visitors to Oyster Bay, where he resides.

Currently, motorcycles have already been removed from the shop, but he continues to sell new and used parts. The auction of Joel's collection does not yet have a specified date.
