  • Shane Daley is being charged in the murder of Brian Thompson's family.
  • Calls were made shortly after the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO.
  • The suspect does not acknowledge the evidence in the case regarding the murder.

ALBANY, New York. September 13, 2025 — In New York, a man is being charged with the cyberstalking of the family of slain UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. Shane Daley, 40 years old, according to federal prosecutors, left threats in voicemail messages, which testified about the racial background of the murder.

The charges confirm that Daley made several calls to the Thompson family after his murder, justifying the murder and threatening that the victim and the Thompson children would also suffer the same fate. The calls were made between 4 and 7 days after the murder of Thompson in Midtaun, New York.

Brian Thompson was shot near a hotel in New York City in early June of this year. The suspect, Luiggi Manione, who, according to prosecutors, was armed with a corporate firearm, does not acknowledge the evidence. Daley, who resides in Galva, New York, was charged with the previously presented accusation in the middle.

Prosecutor John A. Sarkone stated that Daley, as he claims, has a history of racial violence and intends to inflict even greater harm on the Thompson family. According to Christopher Raya, deputy director of the FBI in New York, Daley's calls were not only senseless but also threatening, indicating that the family had already suffered through a racial murder of their close relative.
