Quarterback Atlanta Falcons Michael Penix participated in an incident during joint training with the Tennessee Titans in the middle of the week. The incident occurred after Penix connected with Rey-Rey McCloud III on a long touchdown, to which he reacted with words addressed to the Titans players.

"I love competing at a high level, and when I compete, I usually don’t talk much," Penix said. He explained that his words were in response to comments from the Titans' defenders. After this, one or several Titans players confronted him on the field, and Penix found himself in the middle of a fight with the defenders.

Head coach Falcons Raim Morris expressed his disapproval of the situation, stating that it is important to avoid fights during training. However, he emphasized that the support from the team for Penix is a positive aspect. "This speaks to his leadership quality and relationship within the group," Morris added.

After the incident, Penix noted that it was important for him that the team supported him. He also acknowledged that everything happened very quickly, and he did not fully realize what was happening while he was in the center of the incident.

It is worth noting that the Falcons and Titans held joint training before their preseason game on Friday at the Mercedes-Benz stadium.
