President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with German Chancellor Friedrich Merkel on September 13, 2025, in Berlin. During the meeting, the importance of coordination efforts was discussed to achieve peace in Ukraine.

Zelensky thanked Merkel for organizing the "Europe-USA" format and expressed hope that they are getting closer to ending the war. "We all in Europe unanimously support key principles that can guarantee dignity and security for Europeans," the president noted in his post on Telegram.

Chancellor Merkel also positively assessed the negotiations of European leaders, emphasizing that there is hope for peace in Ukraine. He noted that negotiations with partners are progressing successfully, and they are counting on the success of the upcoming meeting between Trump and Putin in the Alliance.

Zelensky emphasized the importance of financing the defense industry in Ukraine and invited partners to join a new NATO PURL instrument for the procurement of weapons from the USA. They also discussed further steps to support Ukraine and coordinated actions with the USA and Europe.

The meeting concluded with a video conference with European leaders, NATO Secretary General Mark Ruette, and US President Donald Trump, after which the sixth meeting of the Coalition of the Willing took place.
