Successes of Ukrainian Forces in Repelling Russian Attacks

• The 118th Brigade destroyed a Russian tank and 16 soldiers.
• In the Sumy region, several populated points were liberated.
• The northernmost Russian mine was destroyed in Ukraine.

Ukrainian forces from the 118th separate mechanized brigade successfully repelled the Russian assault in the Orikhiv sector. The attack lasted approximately three hours, during which Ukrainian defenders destroyed:

• 1 tank;

• 4 armored vehicles;

• 4 motorcycles;

• 16 soldiers of the enemy.

In addition, one infantry fighting vehicle and one armored combat vehicle were also destroyed. Ten Russian soldiers were taken prisoner.

On August 12, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Ukrainian troops liberated the villages of Stepove and Novokostyantynivka in the Sumy region from Russian forces. On August 10, Ukrainian troops completely liberated the village of Bezalivka, having eliminated 18 Russians. On August 9, Ukrainian soldiers destroyed a rare 140-mm northernmost mine from a factory in the Sumy region, which Russia had received as part of expanded military partnerships with North Korea.
