American pilot remains unable to leave Antarctica

Etan Guo, an American pilot and influencer, found himself in a complicated situation in Antarctica after his case was closed. Guo aimed to become the most popular person who independently visits all continents, and to collect donations for research on childhood cancer. After being detained in Chilean Antarctica on June 29, he was accused of providing false information about the flight.

Along with the information, Guo received permission to change the route due to unfavorable weather conditions. However, Chilean authorities claimed that he did not have the necessary permits. On August 14, the court suspended his case, dismissing the accusations under the condition of donating $30,000 to charity.

Guo cannot leave the continent for the next three years and considers himself stuck at the base, regardless of the fact that his lawyer claims he is ready to leave. He noted that Chilean officials do not allow him to leave the base, citing various reasons, including the aircraft's state and unfavorable weather conditions.

Guo expressed hope to continue his mission with fundraising for cancer research, aiming to collect up to $1 million for this cause.
