Hungary Accuses Ukraine of Attack on Druzhba Oil Pipeline

  • Hungary has accused Ukraine of an attack on the oil pipeline.
  • The attack threatens Hungary's energy security.
  • Currently, Hungary has called on Ukraine to stop strikes on energy routes.

This was reported by Ukrayinska Pravda, RBC Ukraine.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, Peter Szijjarto, accused Ukraine of an attack on the "significant distribution point" of the Druzhba oil pipeline, located in the Bryansk region of Russia. Along with his statement, published on Facebook on August 13, Ukraine carried out a strike with a drone on this facility, which threatens Hungary's energy security.

Szijjarto noted that Hungary is the largest supplier of electricity for Ukraine, and without Hungary's support, Ukraine's energy security could become unstable. Considering this, he expressed concern in connection with the attack on the Druzhba oil pipeline, which supplies crude oil products to Hungary.

The Minister urged Ukraine to "not put Hungary's energy security at risk" and to stop attacks on energy routes that supply energy to his country. It is noted that on the night of August 13, Ukrainian drones attacked the oil pumping station of the Druzhba oil pipeline in the city of Unecha, Bryansk region, which caused explosions and a fire at the site of the incident.
